StrongMinds Launches in Rwanda: Our Newest Partnership
StrongMinds is launching operations in Rwanda in partnership with the Rwanda Biomedical Centre. In 2026, StrongMinds will begin the training needed to bring our IPT-G model to the Centre.
Depression rarely exists in isolation. It frequently co-occurs with and compounds other health burdens, including HIV, cancer, and tuberculosis, making mental health care an essential complement to broader health systems rather than a standalone service. Integrating depression treatment into Rwanda’s health infrastructure will help ensure patients managing these conditions receive more complete, effective care.
The partnership reflects the commitment the Centre is making to strengthen mental health among their patients. In their letter of support, Dr. Gishoma Darius, Division Manager, Mental Health Division, at the Biomedical Centre said, “RBC appreciates your commitment to strengthening community-based mental health interventions and promoting mental well-being.”
For StrongMinds, the Rwanda launch marks another step toward our goal of making effective, low-cost mental health care a standard part of public health systems across Africa.
