STRONGMINDS PRIVACY POLICY

Thank you for visiting strongminds.org. By accessing and continuing to use this website, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to the practices described below.

INFORMATION COLLECTED

Non-personally Identifiable Information

For each visitor to this website, our web servers may automatically recognize and collect non-personally identifiable information, such as inbound domain names, your computer’s IP address, the type of browser in use, and pages viewed. This data tells us which pages our users visit and how they have learned about us.

Personally Identifiable Information

We only collect personally identifiable information about you when you voluntarily submit such information to us, for example, by signing up for our newsletter, making a donation, registering for an event, or interacting with us on social media. Depending on the platform, the personally identifiable information collected may include your name, e-mail address, address, phone number, organizational affiliation, and similar information. This information is collected and stored in Bloomerang and/or FundRaise Up. Payment information is processed via Stripe. If you elect to have your employer match your donation, any information you enter will be shared with Double the Donation. Click on each link to review their privacy policies.

When you send us an email via [email protected] or submit an inquiry via the contact form in the footer of our website, your correspondence may be forwarded to the StrongMinds staff member who is most capable of addressing your questions or concerns.

When you engage with StrongMinds on social media, we may collect basic information on your profile, including your name and profile bio, the size of your following, and any sharing activity and content preferences that you have made public on your social media profiles.

We may also collect information from or about you from other public online and offline sources, such as LinkedIn, information published in online or print media, and wealth research tools such as DonorSearch. For example, when you attend one of our events, we may ask you for your contact information to follow up with you about other opportunities to engage with our mission.

HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

Non-Personally Identifiable Information
When you browse our website, we also automatically receive your computer’s internet protocol (IP) address which provides us information about your browser and operating system. This information helps us screen for potential risk and fraud and improve and optimize our website (for example, by generating analytics about how our customers browse and interact with the website and to assess the success of our marketing and advertising campaigns). We also use Google Analytics to help us understand how our visitors discover and interact with our website. You can read more about how Google uses your personal information here. You can also opt out of Google Analytics here.

In general, we will only use Personal Information you provide to us for the purpose for which it was provided, for example:

  • To alert you StrongMinds news and events,
  • To respond to inquiries,
  • To process donations,
  • To customize your web experience or content you receive via email for internal data analysis, for example, to identify trends, determine the effectiveness of past and current campaigns, enhance current online tools, and plan future digital strategies,
  • To conduct supporter and prospect research,
  • In response to a subpoena or when we are required to do so by law, for example, in response to a court order, a law enforcement agency’s request, or other legal obligations,
  • To protect the security or confidentiality of our records,
  • In special cases when we have reason to believe that disclosing this information is necessary to identify, contact, or bring legal action against someone who may be causing injury to or interfering with our rights,
  • In the event that StrongMinds goes through a reorganization (e.g., a merger with another organization).
