Buumba Mwanachingwala joined StrongMinds Zambia in 2019. As Senior Mental Health Facilitator, she coaches and mentors a team of Mental Health Facilitators, running her own group sessions as well. She also works with partners to replicate our group therapy model in schools.
Prior to joining Strongminds in 2019, Buumba was with World Vision Zambia where she worked on a RAPIDS project as IPT-G supervisor and STEPS OVC as a psychosocial support supervisor. She also worked as psychosocial counselor and administrative assistant on a GBV survivor support project. During her field practicals and attachments, she worked with Plan International.
Buumba holds a Bachelor’s Degree in social work from Mulungushi University. She also obtained certificates in psychosocial counselling and, psychosocial care, and counseling for adolescents and children MoH-UNAIDs. Buumba has a passion for mental health and delights in mentoring others, particularly adolescents. In her free time, she loves cooking.
