Sharon Birungi serves as our Head of Programs in Zambia. She joined StrongMinds in 2014 as a Mental Health Facilitator in Uganda, where she spent five years leading interpersonal psychotherapy groups in Kampala, Wakiso, and Iganga district, helping build our on-the-ground programs, before moving to Zambia to serve as Mental Health Supervisor. Prior to joining StrongMinds, she worked with Butabika National Referral Hospital and East African Community Affairs (MEACA) as a volunteer doing community outreach programs and psychosocial support work. She holds a Bachelor’s in Social Work & Social Administration and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Public Health. In her free time, she loves dancing salsa, singing, and visiting with friends.
