Michael Manda joined the StrongMinds Zambia team as a Mental Health Facilitator in 2019. In this role, he ran therapy groups in Misisi, Chawama ,and other low-income communities in Lusaka. In 2020, he moved into the position of Senior Mental Health Facilitator to train and support new Mental Health Facilitators and now serves as Mental Health Supervisor.
Prior to joining StrongMinds, Michael was with the Missionaries of Africa and worked extensively with women, children, and prisoners in vulnerable communities in Arusha – Tanzania and West Africa (Burkina Faso). He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in philosophy (from The Catholic University of Eastern Africa in Nairobi – Kenya) and a post-graduate diploma in education. He also obtained a certificate in psychosocial counselling skills from the Zambia Counselling Council.
Michael is passionate about mental health and the general welfare of women. He likes learning new things and easily adapts in new communities. He is also a strong fan of Liverpool Football Club and can speak French and Swahili.
